Chinese Government Scholarships 2024-25 (CSC Scholarships)  

Chinese Government offers Chinese Government Scholarships 2025-26 (CSC Scholarships) to international students  who are willing to pursue higher studies in China. Scholarships are currently being offered for bachelors, masters and PhD studies in more than 250 universities in China. The objective of the Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) is to promote education, and cultural exchange and provide educational opportunities to students worldwide.

Benefits Chinese Government Scholarships 2025

• CSC Scholarship holders will be get tuition fee waiver, medical insurance and accommodation benefits as per Chinese Government Scholarship policy
• Bachelors students will get monthly allowance of CNY 2500, Masters CNY 3000 and PhD CNY 3500 under CSC Scholarship 2024-25.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility requirements for CSC Scholarship 2025 are given below.

• All international students can apply on this scholarship
• For bachelors age limit is 25 years, for masters 35 years and for PhD applicants maximum age limit is 40 years
• For masters program , student should have completed bachelors studies and for PhD applicants , completion of Masters degree is mandatory for Chinese government scholarship.

Application Instructions/ Procedure for CSC Scholarship

• Online application form is to be submitted on Chinese Government Scholarship application protal. Form can be submitted in either English or Chinese Language. Online application portal link is given below.

• Choose the relevant scholarship either Type A or Type B. Type A refers to bilateral program where application is to be submitted by students at their respective Chinese Embassies , Type B refers to University based application , where application is to be submitted with the university. Choose suitable Agency code for the university you are applying as this is different for each university.
• FIll in the online application and upload the application documents
• Submit the application , moreover please note that students have to apply to on respective universities online application too in addition to CSC Scholarship application

CSC Scholarship Application Documents

Recommendation letter

Two recommendation letters are required for CSC application. Recommendation letters should be written by Professor of the previous academic institution.

Educational documents

Degree and transcripts are to be submitted for CSC Application. Copies of degree and transcript need to be notarized from law firm if they are not in Chinese language.

Language Proficiency Certificate

Students can apply based on IETLS/TOFEL/Duolingo/GAT if applying for English taught program. Some universities accept language proficiency certificate issued from the previous educational institute so tests scores are not required for application in such universities. Please refer to specific university scholarship requirement when applying for Chinese government Scholarship. For Chinese taught program, HSK score is to be submitted for Chinese language proficiency.

Medical examination Certificate

Students need to submit Medical examination form duly signed by the doctor confirming the health of the applicant. Foreign examination certificate form can be downloaded from the websites of the respective universities while applying for CSC Scholarship 2024-25

Study Plan /Research Proposal

Students need to submit research proposal for masters and PhD scholarships application under CSC. Masters students need to submit a proposal with minimum 200 words and for PhD detailed research plan of 800 words at least is the essential requirement.

Passport Copy

Passport copy is required and passport must be valid. In case passport is expired, students should apply for renewal of passport and application should be submitted after renewal

Pictures

Pictures are to submitted with the application. Pictures should be preferably in white background.

Non-Criminal Record

Applicants need to submit Non-Criminal Record . The document is usually issued by the police / security agencies in different countries and it confirms that the applicant donot have any criminal history

Acceptance Letter

Acceptance letter is obtained from the potential supervisors for masters and PhD program. Usually Acceptance letter is an optional document for masters program applications in most of the Chinese universities. For PhD programs, universities often require an acceptance letter, and an approved research plan from the potential supervisor is also required by some of the universities.

Resume / CV

CV of the applicant is often required while applying in many Chinese Universities. Resume should highlight the academic achievements of the individual and overall accomplishments.

Steps after submission of Chinese Government Scholarship Application

• After submission of application on Chinese Government Scholarship application portal, students are advised to apply on respective universities portal. After submission of application on university portal, students will be considered for Chinese Government Scholarships (CSC Scholarship) by the university.
• After initial assessment of the applicant, University will nominate the students for CSC scholarship
• After approval from the China Scholarship Council, Chinese government scholarship results will be announced by the universities starting from the month of July.
